Mother and Child

From conception, melanated mothers and children are targeted and at risk.  Starting from the sub-standard treatment of pregnant women, who are four times more likely to die of preventable conditions than their peers of other, lighter complexions to the disproportionate kidnappings of brown girls, and a gamut of unequal treatment everywhere in between, I seek to make the viewer aware, and maybe even uncomfortable in this series, because discomfort can motivate action and change.
